Overview

About Mercuric Oxide Red

Mercuric Oxide Red is the coarser, crystalline form of mercury(II) oxide. It is practically insoluble in water and dissolves in acids.

It is a convenient source of mercury for preparing other mercury compounds and is used as a reagent and in specialist electrochemistry.
