About Proflavine Hemisulphate
Proflavine Hemisulphate is the sulphate salt of 3,6-diaminoacridine, one of the two acridines found in acriflavine. It is an orange-red powder that dissolves in water to give a yellow, strongly fluorescent solution.
Proflavine intercalates between DNA base pairs, which makes it a long-standing tool in fluorescence imaging and molecular research.
