Product Description

Mercuric Bromide is an inorganic mercury compound in which mercury is present in its +2 oxidation state, coordinated to bromine atoms. In the laboratory mercuric bromide finds a role as a reagent in the synthesis of other compounds of the metal and also serves as a precursor in the preparation of other mercury salts. Due to the toxic nature of the metal, its use has been much more reduced. Mercuric Bromide is a highly toxic compound that has been utilised traditionally in applications ranging from photography to medicine, though its use is curtailed considerably due to the dangerous toxicity of mercury.
